---NOW SOLD---- FOR SALE 1920'S JAP ENGINED JAMES SPRINTER
NOW SOLD I have decided to sell my 1922 James V twin sprinter project it includes what you can see in the photos. Frame, Girder forks,James Petrol tank, Saddle, a V twin JAP engine that turns freely and seems to be complete,I have not been able to identify exactly what it is but have included a close up of the engine number if that helps.
Looking in the JAP book best estimate of the capacity is 770cc or 980cc. 5 or 8hp and dated between 1915 and 1920 the familiar JAP engine numbering system was not introduced until 1920 so it predates that. Before then they were numbered sequentially and its number post dates those of 1914 the cut off date for Pioneer run motorcycles. It includes a
Magneto which was rebuilt during the first Covid lockdown and a lovely
restored Jaeger Rev counter. there is a front wheel but no rear
wheel or gearbox. It has a V5 in my name and have owned it since 2013
,One of the photos is a sketch of what I thought it might look like when
finished .Please send me a private message if you would like any
further info or would like to come and see it
